The Geary USD 475 Board of Education will consider authorizing approval to obtain design and construction costs for a proposed greenhouse at Westwood Elementary School when they meet Tuesday evening. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Devin Center.
According to agenda information the greenhouse is a goal of Westwood Elementary School and their redesign efforts. Students, teachers and community members would be involved in various projects and project-based learning activities with the greenhouse. It would facilitate and extend learning opportunities for the school’s 275 students early childhood through fifth grade.
The Board will also consider the purchase of early childhood playground equipment for Ware Elementary School, a recommendation on a salary study and a recommendation for a 2019-2020 salary increase for classified and salary employees.
