Heavy rain accompanied by the crack and sizzle of powerful lightning rolled across Geary County during the early morning hours on Sunday.  Multiple waves of storms moved across the region.

Geary County Extension Agent Chuck Otte, who keep the local weather records, reported that 1.83 inches of rain fell in Junction City before 7 a.m. Sunday.
