The water release from Milford Lake has been increased from 2,000 cubic feet per second up to 3,000 cfs. That announcement was made by Bill Whitworth, Operations Project Manager for the Corps of Engineers
Whitworth said releases will be maintained near this level until the lake elevation drops back down to 50% of the flood pool for the lake. The increase should keep the lake level from rising over the weekend.
Whitworth added the situation does not look promising for anything substantial in terms of releases until the Missouri river level at Waverly, Missouri drops significantly.
The current lake elevation is 1163.4 which is about 19-feet above conservation pool.
