Military Affairs Director Craig Bender and Chamber of Commerce President Mickey Fornaro-Dean recently returned from a trip to Clarksville, Tennessee to learn about that community’s military support efforts and growth.
Two of the ideas they brought back include possible events that could be held. One would be an effort to welcome new Fort Riley leadership at the Chamber offices, said Bender. “So we have two new deputy commanding generals, a new chief of staff, a new deputy garrison commander. So making sure we welcome in here in Junction City, make sure they know that we’re here to support them and letting them know that if they need something they can talk to us.”
A second event could involve welcoming new military spouses and educating them about the community.
The ideas received discussion at the MAC Advisory Committee meeting on Thursday.
