Junction City officials will seek a grant to help pay for a proposed roundabout

The City of Junction City will seek a community development block grant to help pay for a portion of a proposed traffic roundabout at McFarland Road and Eisenhower Drive.

City Manager Allen Dinkel estimated that the application would probably be for up to $700,000. He sought approval for the application from the Junction City Commission this week.  “Give us permission to move forward with the Eisenhower – McFarland roundabout as a cdbg grant application for this year. ”

Mayor Pat Landes stated the roundabout is a “huge safety need in our town going forward.” The city commission voted 5-0 to proceed with the application.
