Zachary Scott “Zach” Kuhlman, 45, of Onaga, Kansas, died Saturday, June 15, 2019, at his home. He has been resident of the area since 2003.
Zach was born on August 14, 1973, in Greeley, Colorado, the son of Bartholomew Jacob “Jake” and Linda Mae Parks Kuhlman. He attended Waverly Elementary School, Wellington Jr. High School and graduated from Poudre High School of Fort Collins, CO. He then attended Front Range Community College where he received an Associate’s Degree in Automotive Mechanics.
Zach worked as a a Journeyman Maintenance Mechanic at Jeffrey Energy Center through Westar Energy. He also owned his own business, Zach’s Welding and Fabrication in Onaga. When he lived in Colorado he also owned Kuhlman’s Automotive.
Zach loved anything outdoors including hunting, fishing, camping and boating. He especially loved being in the mountains. He enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler in the sand dunes, golfing and he was an avid soccer player, in his high school years he was a forward on the high school soccer team. He was also a Broncos football fan. He liked to weld and work on cars, mostly Chevy square body. He never knew a stranger and was known to visit with any and every one. Most importantly he loved his family, spending time with his children and grand-daughter, and was known to be a prankster to his siblings.
Zach married Jayme Lynn Mumpower on February 17, 2007 in Wamego, Kansas. She survives at their home.
Zach is also survived by his parents, Jake and Linda Kuhlman, Fort Collins Colorado; his children; Cory Cain Kuhlman, Madyson Buescher, Hayden Kuhlman and Tristan Kuhlman; his granddaughter, Melah May Kuhlman, all of Onaga; his siblings, Joshua Kuhlman (Tammy), Ault, CO and Jedadiah (SaraBeth) Ault, CO as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Lillian and Fred Kuhlman and maternal grandparents Virgal and Violet Parks.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Campanella-Evans Mortuary in Wamego. Rob Campanella will be the celebrant. There will be a visitation at the Onaga Community Center on Friday, June 21, 2019 where family will greet friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm. Zach will lie in state beginning at 4:00 pm. They suggest memorial contributions to Zach Kuhlman Memorial Fund and those may be sent in care of the funeral home.
