The suspect arrested in connection with the Monday night stabbing death of Eddie Starks, 55, Junction City, had her first appearance in Geary County District Court on Wednesday.

Police reported that Vondra Brown , 49, Junction City, was arrested on suspicion of Murder in the Second Degree. A check with the Geary County Attorney’s office revealed that her bond has been set at $100,000 cash/surety. A status and preliminary hearing date in her case has been scheduled on June 18th.

Police responded to the 100 block of East Vine Street at 9:24 p.m. Monday for a subject who had been stabbed. Upon arrival officers found Starks suffering from a stab wound. He was transported to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka where he was later pronounced dead.
