The new Milford Lake concert series is scheduled at Acorns Resort at Milford Lake Friday and Saturday night.

Resort owner Mike Harris said Country Fest is occurring this weekend. It includes not only music but is also a camping festival. There will be two bands playing Friday night and five throughout the day on Saturday at a brand new amphitheater. “That’s kind of our festival grounds there. It’s always been designed. There’s 16 utility camp sites down there, and then there’s like a natural grassy area that goes to the amphitheater surrounded by trees. And then we built the stage down there.

Harris said it’s been part of the goals for the resort for a long time, and this will be the first big festival at the site.  Seating is all outdoors, so if you’re attending the concerts bring your lawn chair or blankets. The concerts are scheduled 7 – 10 p.m. Friday evening and 2 – 10 p.m. Saturday. You can get tickets online at eventbrite.com or at the gate. Tickets are $10 for Friday only, $15 for Saturday only, or $20 for a Friday and Saturday combo.  Food and beer vendors will be on-site, and no outside alcohol or coolers are allowed.

The lineup of bands includes the Mountain Deer Revival and Jaron Bell Band on Friday evening, and the Adam Capps Band, Callahan Band, Lucas Maddy, Kyle Kilgore and Amber Goldman on Saturday.

Other current or planned improvements at the resort included a floating breakwater that was finished last week, a planned add-on to overnight boat dock slips for the guests staying there, and some of the parking lots for “The Cove” and the conference center will be asphalted.

There will be a rock’n roll music festival at the resort the first weekend of August, and there will be a blues festival the first weekend of October.
