Robert Dale Haley

Robert Dale Haley, 87, of Salina passed away Wednesday, April 10th, 2019 at his home.
Robert was born in Salina, Kansas on March 8, 1932 to Virginia Mildred (Fetterhoof) and Isaac Jerome Haley, the eldest of 3 sons; James E. Haley (deceased) and Jerry L. Haley of Humble, TX. Robert and his brothers were raised on the family farm east of Salina.
Robert attended elementary and high school in Salina, Graduating from Salina High School in 1950. He received his undergraduate degree in English from Kansas Wesleyan University and his Master’s Degree in Guidance from Kansas State University. He taught English and Drama in Copeland, Hope and Abilene, Kansas. After teaching for 30 years, he spent the next 25 years as a folk-art craftsman, traveling coast to coast attending craft shows. Following retirement, he settled back in Salina where he became a baptized member of First Church of the Nazarene and served on the church board, nursing home outreach and was a member of the Tuesday Men’s Prayer Group. He also served the Salina Community delivering Meals on Wheels.
Robert had a lifetime of love and friendships. He dearly loved his three daughters: Diana, Valorie and Victoria. In 1994 Robert Married Beverely Brin adding three more blessings to his life: Teresa, Troy and Traci.
Robert and Beverely had 6 children, 13 grandchildren: Tonya, Dawn, Jessica, Wendy, Malorie, Kelsey, Jordan, Taylor, Samantha, Grant, Matthew, Jacob and Daniel, 8 great-grandchildren: Ashley, Megan, Joel, Alisa, Aurora, Joseph, Everett, Elijah and 1 on the way, 1 great-great-grandchild: Adalynn.

He is preceded in death by his brother, James Haley.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 17th at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 South Ohio Street, Salina, from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

Funeral service will be Thursday, April 18th at 10:30 am, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1425 South Ohio Street, Salina, with Rev. Jon Fillipi officiating. Burial with military honors will be at 2:00 pm, Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Memorials may be made to the church, sent in care of the funeral home.
