Loy Otto Halsey Jr., 88 of Chapman, went to his Heavenly Home February 26, 2019.
Mr. Halsey, son of Loy Otto Halsey, Sr and Pearl Davison was born August 21, 1930 at Meadow Grove, Nebraska. After school, he joined the United States Marine Corps. He was married March 14, 1952 to Opal F. Pollard. Together they raised five children.
He is survived by his wife, Opal; sons Telfer Paul and Lonnie Todd; daughters Carolyn Kay Schuessler, and Belinda Shorman; four grandchildren Telfer Raymond Halsey, Bryon Todd Halsey, Amy Jean Reinhorn, Heidi Marie Shorman; three great grandsons, Yona and Nadau Reinhorn, Dillon Martin Wait; three sisters Norma, Evelena, and Nina and; two brothers Virgil and Melvin Halsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Loy Wayne, brother Darrel and sister LaVanna Bolling.
He was saved by Grace and a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Junction City, KS.
There was a private service for the family with Pastor Stan Norman officiating. Burial is at the Indian Hill Cemetery, Chapman, Kansas.
