State Senator Jeff Longbine believes medicaid expansion will pass in the Kansas legislature.

He told a legislative coffee audience in Junction City he is hopeful there can be a way found to get the issue to the floor for consideration. if it does he is confident it will pass both the Senate and the House. “I expect medicaid expansion to get to the floor and I’m confident when it gets to the floor that it will pass. It will take some wrangling to get it to the floor but I’m confident it will pass when it does.”

Geary Community Hospital officials have long supported medicaid expansion. It could provide needed financial assistance for the hospital.

The Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the legislative coffee at the 12th Street Community Center on Saturday.
