The Hands On History program Wednesday ( January 9th ) will host an early birthday celebration for the State of Kansas.
The Program and Education Director for the Geary County Historical Museum, Jennifer Dixon, said it will be an all-out birthday party. “We’re having birthday cake. We are going to be unwrapping some presents and we’ll learn about the history of Kansas, about people pioneering to our wonderful state, and why they chose Junction City – Geary County as their place of residence. ”
Sessions on the 9th are scheduled at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. If you are interested in attending contact Jennifer Dixon at gearyhistoryprograms@gmail.com.
The actual 158th birthday of Kansas is on January 29th. Volunteers will take trunks to schools to make presentations to school-age children on January 25th and 28th.
