K-State selected to play in 2019 Fort Myers Tip-off

MANHATTAN, Kan.
 – Kansas State has been selected to participate in the 2019 Rocket Mortgage by Quicken Loans Fort Myers Tip-Off, which is set for November 2019 at the Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers, Florida.

The complete bracket, including game dates, match-ups and television broadcast times, will be announced later.

K-State will be joined in the tournament field by the Missouri Valley’s Bradley, the Big Ten’s Northwestern and the ACC’s Pittsburgh. The quartet are off to a collective 22-2 record in 2018-19, including undefeated marks by K-State (6-0) and Pittsburgh (6-0) and just one loss apiece for Bradley (6-1) and Northwestern (4-1).

Each team will play four games in the Tip-Off – the first two at on-campus sites and the final two rounds in Fort Myers. K-State will play two home games at Bramlage Coliseum against opponents to be determined.

“We are looking forward to the challenge of playing in a quality non-conference tournament like the Las Vegas Invitational,” said head coach Bruce Weber. “We always want to challenge our team in the preseason with quality opponents and this tournament has a really good field.”

The tournament will once again be staged at the Suncoast Credit Union Arena, a $28 million state-of-the-art arena where Boston College defeated Loyola Chicago to capture the inaugural Fort Myers Tip-Off Championship. The Eagles knocked off Wyoming, 88-76, and the Ramblers beat Richmond, 82-66, in the semifinals, while the Cowboys won the third-place game with a 68-66 win over the Spiders. All the games were televised on FS1.
