The Junction City Blue Jay varsity boys cross country team finished sixth in the Buhler Invitational Thursday with a team score of 188 points. Great Bend finished first with the low score of 42 points.
In the individual competition for the Blue Jays Juan Tovar led the way with an 11th place finish in 18:30.7. Clay Dustin finished 35th in 20:03.6 while Alexander Seelye was 36th in 20:10.7. Dain Yale finished 50th out of 75 runners with a time of 21:03.2.
In the varsity girls competition Junction City finished ninth out of ten teams. The Lady Jays had a team score of 197 points while Buhler finished first with 54 points.
For the Lady Jays Stephany Lechuga led the way with a 22nd place finish in 23:18.2, Kaydra Baer was 34th in 24:29.2, Cassidy Eschliman 35th in 24:33.1 and Laynee Chase 52nd in 26:31.8.
