The Junction City Blue Jays play football Thursday night at Hummer Sports Park in Topeka against the Topeka West Chargers.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.  You can hear the game on The Talk of JC, with the pregame broadcast beginning at 6:30 p.m.

This was a shorter week of practice for the Blue Jays since the game is being played on Thursday instead of Friday evening. Junction City Coach Randall Zimmerman said the team pushed part of their Tuesday practice into Monday,” part of Wednesday into Tuesday and extended Tuesday’s a little bit more. ” Zimmerman noted they tried to condense the preparations some and move them forward.

Junction City is 1-1 entering the game while the Chargers are 0-2 on the season.

Since Hummer Sports Park is also home to the football programs at Topeka High and Highland Park that necessitates a Thursday night game. All three schools use the field for their games.
