There will be a meeting on managing high nitrate forages for cattle on Wednesday, September 5th at 7 p.m. at the Geary County 4-h / Senior Citizens building on South Spring Valley Road.
Geary County Extension Agent Chuck Otte said much of the corn harvested this year had issues with high nitrates. The meeting will talk about using high nitrate feeds and cattle production. The ability to use that forage will allow farmers to purchase less hay for their livestock.
