The Junction City Blue Jay football team opened practice on Monday. Because of the lightning accompanying a thunderstorm practice had to be moved indoors to the Shenk Gym at JCHS.

A check with the team revealed there were approximately 120 players out for practice Monday. The first varsity game will be against Hays at the Al Simpler Stadium on August 31st.

Blue Jay football head coach Randall Zimmerman will be a guest on the JC Now show on 1420 KJCK AM at 7:20 Tuesday morning. He will discuss the beginning of the new season.
