Geary County rural firefighters responded to a fire on Humboldt Creek Road area Wednesday.

Rural Fire Chief Garry Berges reported no one was injured. “Local farmer ( Ronnie Roeser ) was out swathing his field, getting it cut, and kicked up a flint rock. Started some of the crop on fire. We were able to get down there with two trucks right away, and get it out before it did much damage.”

Berges estimated about three to four acres burned.
