The Geary County Sheriff’s Department has reported that Deputies arrested two people, Mariel Fjer, Mission, KS. and Sophia Poplin, Independence MO, on suspicion of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia on Interstate 70 at mile marker 303. Fjer was also arrested on suspicion of Driving While Suspended and Defective Tail Light.

The arrests were reported at 10 p.m. Tuesday.

The Sheriff’s Department reported that Deputies respond to U.S. 77 Highway at mile marker 167 for a single vehicle non-injury accident. Daniel Korp, Milford, was traveling north bound in a 2010 Toyota Tacoma when his vehicle struck a deer.
