New Bridge Project Still a Work in Progress

Allen Dinkel

The long-running bridge construction project on K-18 Highway over U.S. 77 Highway on the west side of Junction City continues.

Junction City Manager Allen Dinkel said it’s a KDOT project so the city does not control it.

“Of course that project was to be done November last one ( 2017 ) and then we heard June 1, and I’m guessing August 1 maybe. There is some asphalt laid. They’ve got to lay probably three more lifts, they’ve got to do the shoulders, and then there’s a walking trail on the north side….a 10-foot wide concrete walking trail that has to be put in place also yet.”

The location is a major site for traffic on the west side of Junction City.
