Corps of Engineers Increases Outflow

The Corps of Engineers increased the outflow from Milford Lake on Wednesday from 25 cubic-feet-per second to 500 cfs, and there are plans to continue monitoring ice conditions at the marinas at the Lake.

According to the Corps in late December they began releasing 2,000 cfs prior to the cold temperatures arriving in the forecast but had to reduce the outflow back to 25 cfs on Jan. 3 due to heavy ice accumulation at the marinas.

As winter conditions allow they will continue to draw down the lake elevation with a maximum release of 2,000 cfs to reach the winter target elevation of 1141.4, which is three feet below normal pool level.

The current lake elevation is 1144.01, which is .39 feet below normal pool level.
