South Kiwanis Club members undertook a project to fund the city’s installation of new benches in Junction City’s Coronado Park this year.

Club spokesman Jim Germann stated the club itself did not purchase all of the benches. Individual members were able to donate funds, and as a way of thanking them they were allowed to put a placard on the benches.

Germann said there are five benches, and in the future a few more will probably be installed.
