Fireworks sales begin TOMORROW

It’s almost time for FIREWORKS!

Beginning Tuesday, June 27th through Tuesday, July 4th fireworks can be purchased in Junction City from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm daily.

Terry Johnson, Junction City Fire Chief, said that he wants people to be smart and safe while celebrating the Fourth of July holiday.

“We want folks to be safe, that’s the big thing – we get a lot of people injured from this time of year from not wanting to be safe with fireworks,” said Johnson. “Just remember that these are explosives, and they have to be careful with them; that’s the most important thing that we can put out – please be careful with them.”

Fireworks can be used every night until 10:00 pm, except on the Fourth of July when the end time is extended to midnight.

Garry Berges, Feary County Rural Fire Chief said that similarly, firework sales can begin Tuesday, June 27th and continue through Wednesday July, 5th.

“The shooting of fireworks have to be on private property; you can not buy some and shoot them out on a County road – they are prohibited by federal law on Milford Lake area,” said Berges. “[You] need to be on private property with the landowner’s permission.”

The Fourth of July is one week from tomorrow.
