Blue Jay Tennis Goes 1-2

tennis-jchsThe Junction City Blue Jay tennis team traveled to Topeka on Saturday to compete in duals against Topeka Hayden, Washburn Rural and Wichita West.

In the first round, the Blue Jays lost 6-3 vs. Hayden with the three wins coming from Mason Richards at #3 singles, Yuno Fernandez at #6 singles and Jordan Bailey and Adonnis Washington at #3 doubles.  In the second round, the Blue Jays faced Washburn Rural.  Korbin King was able to get the only win against Washburn by winning in a tiebreaker at the #4 singles spot.  In the final round, the Blue Jays were able to pull out a 5-4 win over Wichita West.  Jordan Bailey and Guido Greco were able to contribute to two wins a piece in the final round.  Jordan Bailey teamed up with Mason Richards at #1 doubles to win 8-5 and then followed it up with a singles win at the #2 singles spot 8-3.  Guido Greco won 8-1 at #1 singles and then teamed up with Korbin King at #2 doubles to win 8-5.  The deciding match came from Yuno Fernandez at #6 singles.  He won his match 8-2.

The Blue Jay tennis team next travels to Topeka on April 3rd to play in the Highland Park Quad.
