Junction City, Kan., (October 3, 2016) – Mark Scroggins of Canyon, Texas, and Bryan Goebel of Shawnee, Kan., won joint PBA50 Southwest/Midwest Regional events in a doubleheader weekend at Junction City Bowl.

On Saturday, Scroggins, bowling in his first regional event for players 50 and older, defeated Goebel, 189-173, to win his first PBA50 title. Goebel opened in the ninth frame of the championship match, allowing Scroggins to clinch the victory.

On Sunday, Goebel battled Mark Scroggins’ twin brother, Mike, also from Amarillo, Texas, through qualifying and the first part of the round-robin match play finals. Goebel then built a comfortable lead, holding off a hard-charging Kerry Fulford of Ft. Worth, Texas, who wound up in second place, 98 pins behind. Goebel finished the 15-game event with 3,324 total pins, including bonus, while Fulford ended with a 3,226 pinfall total.
