The singer who became well known for his song, “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” Franke Vallens, attended Junction City High School during a portion of his high school years.

JCHS Principal Melissa Sharp announced that Vallens paid a visit to JCHS on Friday. He wanted a tour since he went to school at JCHS years ago. During his visit he listened to vocal music students and talked to them about being musicians, the payoff of continued practice and working hard for their dreams. He also sang a few chords of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.”
