Opening night of the Junction City Rodeo packed the stands at the farigrounds.
Jason Lankas, Vice President of the Junction City Rodeo Association said he was happy it didn’t rain.
“It looked like clouds to begin with, like we were going to get some rain, but it did not rain…and it turned out to be a pretty nice night. The stands were full, and that’s awesome for Junction City,” said Lankas.
Unfortunately there wasn’t a winner in the bullriding competition.
Lankas explained that the cowboys needed to ride for at least 8 seconds.
“They have to ride 8 seconds, we had one cowboy almost [do it], but I think he rode 6 seconds…hopefully tomorrow night we have a good bull rider,” said Lankas.
The 23rd annual Junction City Rodeo continues Saturday night at 7:30 pm.
