There were only four schools represented in the Manhattan Invitational track meet on Friday at Bishop Stadium.
But the Junction City Blue Jays captured first and the Lady Jays tied for first in the team standings.
According to JCHS coach Randall Zimmerman said Junction City had some good individual results. Stephen Starks and Jawonnis Hinton finished one-two in the shotput for the Blue Jays. Kenson Henderson won the discus. The 4×100 relay captured first for both the boys and girls in the meet, and the girls and boys 4 x 400 relay teams finished first. Juwan Bush won the boys 400 meter dash, Aylissa Dotson the high jump, Traecy Freeman the pole vault, and Jaylene Brime the triple jump.
In the team scoring the Junction City Blue Jay boys finished with 113 points, followed by Manhattan with 91, Wichita Southeast 57, and Highland Park 10. In the girls team scoring Junction City and Manhattan tied for first with 90 points, followed by Wichita Southeast with 66 and Highland Park 5.
