The Junction City Kiwanis South Club and community leaders broke ground Saturday on a new basketball project for Coronado Park on South Washington Street.

The club raised $8,000, and received grants totaling $14,500 and $800 to assist with the project for the facility which is planned to be 50 x 80 feet in diameter.

The club hopes to have the project completed by June.
