The Geary County Rural Fire Department worked a fire west of Junction City north of Old Highway 40 and Britt road on Monday afternoon.

There were no injuries, but Rural Fire Chief Garry Berges confirmed 15 large hay bales were lost in the blaze. He estimated the damage at $2,000.  The identity of the property owner is not yet available.
