New Youth Wrestling Facility Planned

wrestlerA new youth wrestling facility is in the works in Junction City.

Clint Francis of Bramlage Investments confirmed the project involves a 935 East Fourth Street warehouse that has been acquired from Stewart Moving and Storage. “Are in the process of renovating that facility to accomodate the youth wrestling program. Hopefully at some point we can utilize the facility for some other youth sports organizations, but time will tell.”

The interior will be wide open. Restroom and storage areas are being expanded. “It was pretty much wide open before, but other than that it will just be a big wide open space, put down some wrestling mats, some insulation, and heating and cooling the building.”

A request to waive a parking lot surfacing requirement will go before the Junction City Commission Tuesday night.

The late Ron Bramlage was a big supporter of youth wrestling and Blue Jay wrestling in the community.
