Cooler Weather to Continue Through Weekend

According to the National Weather Service of Topeka, today will be mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid/upper 60s. If you’re planning on raking up some leaves today, it will be breezy with gusts up to 30mph this afternoon.FileL (31)These gusty winds will aid in Very High Fire Danger conditions for this afternoon, so do not burn! We will be transitioning to a more wet pattern Sunday night through Wednesday as a strong storm system approaches the area. At this time, the best potential for rain looks to be during the Mon. night through Tuesday timeframe.
Today: Sunny. Highs in the upper 60s. Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts to around 30 mph.

Tonight: Clear. Lows in the mid 40s. South winds 10 to 15 mph.

Sunday: Breezy. Mostly sunny in the morning then becoming mostly cloudy. Highs in the lower 60s. South winds 10 to 20 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday Night: Rain showers likely. Lows in the upper 40s. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts to around 30 mph. Chance of showers 70 percent.

Monday: Cloudy with chance of rain showers and isolated thunderstorms. Highs in the lower 60s. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts to around 30 mph. Chance of precipitation 30 percent.

Monday Night: Rain showers and isolated thunderstorms. Lows in the lower 50s. Chance of precipitation 80 percent.
