Over the past week the Geary County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous reports from citizens who have been contacted by an unknown person claiming to be a Deputy with the Geary County Sheriff’s Office.

The caller advises the victim that they have an active warrant for their arrest and states that the victim must send money in order for the warrant to be withdrawn.  Neither the Geary County Sheriff’s Office nor any member of the Court will contact a citizen and request a monetary payment.  If you are contacted, please record as much information as you can, including the phone number of the person who contacted  you, and report it as soon as possible to the Geary County Sheriff’s Office in person at  826 North Franklin Street in Junction City, or by calling 785-238-2261.
