Joyce Hammond

Joyce Hammond, 86, died Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor. Joyce was born on March 31, 1932 in Clay County to Earl and Irene (White) Lloyd. Joyce went to the Tubbs Country School in Clay County and then to high school in Clay Center. She married Francis Hammond on June 12, 1951. They moved from the farm to Talmage for ten years and then moved to Longford. They have two children, Sally and Dusty. She worked at the Coachlight Restaurant in Longford for 20 years and babysat her granddaughters. She enjoyed working in the yard, planting and raising flowers and having several bird feeders. She also raised pigs and cats. She was a member of the Longford United Methodist

Daughter: Sally (Dan) Pfizenmaier, Morganville, Kansas
Son: Dusty (Deb) Hammond, Longford, Kansas
Sister: Zola (Warren) Sylvester, Leonardville, Kansas
Grandchildren: 4 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren

Funeral Services: Monday, April 1, 2019 at 10:30 at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Longford, KS.

Visitation: Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 2-5pm at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home, Clay Center, KS.

Minister: Pastor Debra Tompsett-Welch

Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas

Memorials: Clay Center Presbyterian Manor or the Bethel United Methodist Church c/o the funeral home.
