Dorothy Jean Engle of rural Chapman, Kansas passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019 at her home. Dorothy was born October 2, 1951 in Junction City to Harold and Joy (Leffingwell) Walters. Dorothy was raised in the Abilene area, and graduated from Abilene High School in 1969.
Survivors include her husband Kenneth Engle, daughter Pam Hasselman and husband Gary of Chapman, son Jeff Morgan and wife Amber of Salina. Brothers Kenneth Walters of Salina and Robert Walters and wife Becky of Salina. Sisters Phyllis Miller and husband Albert of Abilene and Lois Fitzwater and husband Gary of Abilene. Also survived by thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Preceded in death by father, Harold and mother Joy Walters and by her brother Roy Walters. There will be no visitation. Cremation was chosen by the family. A Memorial Service will be 10:30 am Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home with Pastor Roland Slater officiating. Inurnment will follow at Abilene Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be given to the First Presbyterian Church of Abilene.
