U.S. Senator Pat Roberts announced on Monday that he voted in favor of the John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019, which provides $716 billion in funding for national defense. The bill passed the Senate with a vote of 85-10.
The legislation would give troops a 2.6% pay raise, the largest raise for service members in nearly ten years.
“Today’s passage of the NDAA will provide our troops with a much needed pay raise,” said Senator Roberts. “The NDAA is crucial to ensuring our men and women in uniform are provided the best training, equipment an support necessary to complete their mission and return safely.
