Kansas woman hospitalized after SUV hydroplanes

Screen Shot 2014-07-03 at 5.13.15 AMWICHITA- A Kansas woman was injured in an accident just before 2 p.m. on Friday in Sedgwick County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer driven by Britney N. Almire, 24, Wichita, was west bound exiting Kellogg to go north on Interstate 235. The driver lost control of the vehicle. It hydroplaned, traveled into the ditch and struck a fence.

Almire was transported to St. Francis Medical Center. A passenger in the vehicle was not injured.

The KHP reported both were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
