She noted United Way is inching closer to their annual goal amount, and noted it’s been challenging to raise donations in the current economic climate.

Cray expressed thanks to those in the community that continue to support the agencies in the community that provide such critical services during Thursdays Annual United Way Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon.

Representatives from the major sponsoring corporate groups were recognized for their ongoing support of United Way in the efforts to provide financial support for the 16 local service providers.

Central National Bank was recognized as a Platinum Pacesetter with a contribution in the $15,000 or more range.

USD 475 was a Gold Pacesetter, which includes contributions of $10,000 or more.

Contributing $5,000 or more were the Silver Pacesetters of Ben Kitchens Painting, The City of Junction City, Union Pacific Foundation, Dillons, Geary Community Hospital, Montgomery Communications, and the Weary Family Foundation.
