The Kansas State Wildcats had the lead for three fourths of the game but couldn’t hold on in the final ten minutes falling to Baylor 76-74.
The Wildcats led at the half 33-25 and had it’s biggest lead of 12 just over two minutes into the second half.
“Then the momentum really changed,” Bruce Weber said.
“I dont know what if we got up tight a little bit. We’ve been in this situation so many times were it’s been a close game and the strecth run, five to eight minutes left in the game, we missed free throws. I think we went one for six, Wes missed two in a row, Shane missed two in a row and then Shane went one for two. That didn’t help us, especially since they were making them.”
Baylor shot 15-16 from the free throw line in the final ten minutes.
Marcus Foster led the team with 29 points on a career high seven three pointers.
The Wildcats will now travel to Kansas City next week for the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship Tournament at the Sprint Center.
