New hospice volunteers will be trained at Geary Community Hospital.

The dates are March 17 and 21.

New hospice volunteers are being trained for companion and personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, sewing, office work and other tasks according to the volunteer’s abilities and availability, according to Linda Rigsby, volunteer coordinator for Hospice at Geary Community Hospital.

You can sign up through Rigsby and plan to attend the two required training sessions on Monday, March 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Medical Arts Conference Room, and Friday, March 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Martha K. Hoover Women’s Health Center. Both locations are located on the south side of Geary Community Hospital in Junction City.
