The Guranteed Maximum Price ( GMP ) for the construction of the new Fort Riley Elementary School will be on the USD 475 Board of Education agenda Monday.
Superintendent Ron Walker noted the district recently received the $16 million federal grant for the new school. “Now this is the process where will have the Board accept that award officially, and then we will have the contractors to provide that guranteed maximum price.” Walker said once that is completed the work can begin on the process of moving machines, and those sort of things.
Hutton Construction Company will be the construction manager for the project. The architect will be Schaeffer, Johnson, Cox, Frey Architecture.
The new school will be built in the Camp Forsyth area of Fort Riley.
In addition to federal funding, Walker has confirmed there is a local match of about four million dollars. He said three million of that has been provided by the state. The remaining one million will come from federal impact aid money received by USD 475.
The Board of Education meets at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
