Board Leadership Workshops

K-State Research and Extension is conducting a series of Board Leadership workshops across the state in FebruaryK-STATE RESEARCH AND EXTENSION

Designed to provide basic training for members of community-based boards, the series will be hosted by local Extension professionals at locations across the state.

The series will begin Feb. 19 with Conducting Effective Meetings. A Feb. 20 session will cover Fundraising, Fund Management, Legalities, and Ethics.

On Feb. 26 the topic will be Understanding Fellow Board Members and Conflict Management. Strategic Planning will be the final topic on Feb. 27.

All sessions will be conducted from 6-8 p.m. Workshop participants will meet at host sites throughout the state to take part in web-based instruction and locally facilitated discussion.

Junction City will be one of the sites for the workshops.  In Junction City the location will be determined once the number of registrants is determined, but will either be at the Chamber of Commerce office meeting room or the 4H / Sr. Citizen’s Center. Registrants will be notified one week before the session begins.

Pre-registration for the workshops is required by Feb. 7. The cost is $40 for all four sessions per person. Each registration reserves a seat which can be rotated by participants. For a group rate contact Chuck Otte, Geary County Extension Office, 785-238-461.

Workshops will also be held in Emporia, Olathe, Hays, Salina, Lakin, Ellsworth, St. John, and Kingman.
