Janice “Jan” Ann Boland, 74, of Milford, KS passed away December 30, 2013 at Valley View Senior Life Center.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, January 6, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Matthew Glasgow officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, 805 Caroline Avenue. Cremation will follow the services and a private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Milford Cemetery.

William George Haller, a resident of Junction City, KS, passed away at his home on Friday, December 27, 2013 at the age of 66.
Bill was born May 16, 1947 in Bedford, OH to Kenneth E. and Bertha Carver Haller. He attended grade school and graduated from Mantua, OH high school in 1966. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1967, and he served in Vietnam and Germany. In 1987,he was discharged from the Army at Fort Riley. KS with the rank of SP5. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in the Junction City area. He was married to Ursula Widler on August 25, 1986 in Abilene, KS., and she preceded him in death on August 19, 2009. He was employed as a construction worker at Fort Riley until he retired in 2010.
He is survived by two step-sons: Jesse Widler and Bryan Widler, both of Enterprise, KS; one daughter Tammy Durham, and one step-daughter Brenda Cain of Abilene, KS, and three grandchildren; three sisters: Mary Mader of Junction City, KS, Amy McGregor of Mantua, OH, and Edie Haller of Warrenville, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife Ursula, and his parents Kenneth and Bertha Haller.
The family will have a Memorial Graveside Service with burial of the ashes in the Spring of 2014. The Londeen Funeral Chapel in Chapman, KS is in charge of the arrangements. Steven Douglas Acker, a resident of Chapman, KS, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the age of 63.
Steve was born on August 8, 1950 at Junction City, KS to Lawrence George and Katherine Pierce Acker. He lived with his uncle and aunt Earl and Helen Acker for many years. He attended Chapman Grade School, and graduated from Chapman High School with the Class of 1968. He worked for Harold Clark Electrical Co., in Chapman, as an electrician, and he also worked for A & D Electric in Junction City. He was married to Kristi J. Worman, and they divorced. Later he was married to Beth Mater, and they divorced. He had been living in Chapman for two years before moving into Butterfield Trail House in Chapman on June 15, 2012. He had been a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #240.
He is survived by a son Jushua Dale Acker Minnick of Nebraska, and one daughter Meghann Acker Coble of Florida, and one brother Larry G. Acker of Chapman, KS, one grandson Donald Coble II. He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Katherine Acker, his uncle and aunt Earl and Helen Acker, and one son Jeremiah Steven Acker.
Steve had requested cremation, and the family will have a private burial of the ashes at a later time. The Londeen Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
