The Greek Heroes Restaurant burned on Sunday. The damage was estimated at $150,000, with the Junction City Fire Department indicating the building would be considered a total loss.

The owner William Herr said he had renter’s insurance.
Monday, the owner of the 1032 South Washington Street restaurant, William Herr had heard from his insurance agent. “And he said that we’re good. We’re covered.” He added the insurance company would like at the site in a few days. “Other than that I’m going to have to make a decision if I’m willing to start up another place or not.”
Herr indicated if he does return to business he would relocate to another site. “Definitely. There’s no way I can run here, because it’s going to be several months before this building could even be repaired.”
The restaurant was closed at the time of the fire Sunday afternoon. The cause of the blaze has not yet been determined.
