Kansas Hall of Fame rock band King Midas & The Muflers will bring their signature high-energy, golden-oldies rock-and-roll show to the C.L. Hoover Opera House in Junction City on Saturday, November 23rd.
Formed in McPherson, Kansas in 1965 and inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame in 2006,
C. L. Hoover Opera House
King Midas and The Muflers (band member Bob Hapgood came up with the band’s name and purposely left the second “f” out of “Mufflers” to avoid issues with the Midas Muffler company) is widely known as the “King of the Show Bands”. They primarily play the good time rock-n-roll music of the ’60s and ’70s, covering such legends as James Brown, Buddy Holly, and The Eagles and often are told “King Midas’ music sounds just like the original record!” The band’s groove-oriented, high-energy performance will have you tapping your toes – and maybe dancing in the aisle. Together for nearly 50 years, King Midas and The Muflers is the longest continuously-performing rock-and-roll band in Kansas and one of the premier bands in the Midwest.
This performance by King Midas and the Muflers is made possible by the generosity of Junction City sponsors 1420 KJCK, DEL Motors, The Mane Thing Salon & Spa, Kansas Quick Lube and City Cycle Sales.
Tickets for the concert are $20 for Adults, $18 for Military and Senior Citizens (age 65+), and $15 for Students (age 18 & under). Call to ask about reduced rates for groups of 10 or more. Tickets can be purchased online at jcoperahouse.org or by calling the C.L. Hoover Opera House box office at 785-238-3906.
