K-State Could Earn Bowl Eligibility Saturday Against TCU

The Kansas State Wildcats are one game away from being bowl-eligible and could pick up that eligibility Saturday at home against TCU.

With a win Saturday the Wildcats would become bowl-eligible for the 15th time SNYDERunder head coach Bill Snyder.

During his weekly press conference Tuesday, Snyder said that becoming bowl eligible would be a positive thing at this point in time,”I think all of our players are interested in that. We do not spend a great deal of time talking about it, but you have to realize too that there is an equal amount of motivation on the other side because TCU is going through the exact same thing.”

The Horned Frogs are 4-6 and must pick up wins in their final two games, Saturday in Manhattan and November 30th against Baylor, to become bowl eligible.

Jonathan Truman, Junior Linebacker, said that the becoming bowl eligible is in the back of the teams mind.”Obviously it is there, but our focus is on TCU this week and that is what we plan to keep our minds on.”

Dante Barnett, Sophomore Defensive Back, said that the team doesn’t really look at the game as important towards getting the bowl eligibility out of the way Saturday. “We just look at it as another game that we can go out there and win. We will worry about the bowl game when that time comes. It would not really be a relief. We still look back at a couple of those losses, but winning that game would show that we have improved since those losses and have gotten better each week.”

Saturdays game is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. kick off at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
