Not only will they return but the Brigade operated in the black financially in their initial season this past summer.

The general manager for the team in its first year, Michael Heldstab, said game day sales alone totaled $54,000.

Combining all the fiscal numbers related to the team the overall economic impact increases. Economic multiplier formulars used by the convention and visitor’s bureau were used for calculations. “One of those numbers was an economic impact that we figure comes from visitor’s that came to Junction City that were from farther than 40 miles away, and they stayed the night, they spent money in our community. ” That number was calculated at more than $88,000 brought into the Junction City – Geary County community.

Heldstab reported more than 8,000 fans attended the Brigade baseball games at Rathert Field in the summer of 2014.
