Approximately 230 people turned out for this years Junction Function put on by the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce.
This years theme was Red Carpet Affair and attendees were dressed to impress for the event.

Judd Liebau, Past-Chair of the Chambers Board of Directors, thought that this years theme was a nice twist,”I thought people had a good time with it and I tip my hat to the folks that put this together, it takes a lot of time and effort to do this and I think the theme was good.”
Nikki Davies, Chamber Activities Director, thought that the turnout was very good and explained that moving the event to a Thursday night probably helped,” It’s a little bit different having it on a school night but were not also competing with K-state and KU football games and peoples weekends to.”

Many of those in attendance took advantage of being able to dress up as their favorite celebrity or movie character. Some dressed up as the Robinson family from the hit TV show Duck Dynasty. Marilyn Monroe along with Oprah and Willy Nelson were also represented.
The Chamber handed out awards to the best female and male costume. This years recipient of the best female costume was Marilyn Monroe, Male costume was Si Robinson and the best group photo was of the Duck Dynasty group.
Multiple games were held throughout the night along with both a silent and live auction. Davies said that the event is the Chambers largest fundraiser. She did say that they won’t know the total amount of how much was raised during the event until probably next week, but did expect it to be right around the same amount raised last year if not a little more.
