The storm that rolled through Junction City around 4:30 p.m. Friday brought with it heavy rain and strong winds.
Gary Berges, Geary County Emergency Management Director, said that winds up to 40 m.p.h winds were reported along with pea sized hail,”We know of no damages anywhere reported in the Junction City, Geary county area.”
Tim Brown, Junction City Police Chief, said that it did cause a few power outages and Westar Energy showed that as many as 799 customers in Geary County were without power at one point but it was back down to only three by 6:30 p.m.
No other severe weather is expected through out the evening according to Berges,” What we had already is what were going to see tonight they said (The National Weather Service) its just going to be that front coming through and and after that it should be clear.”
