USD 475 Director of Business Operations Submits Resignation

The Director of Business Operations for Geary USD 475 Marcie Teenor has submitted her resignation.

Superintendent Ron Walker said the Board of Education accepted the resignation, effective September 13. “She is going to move to be closer to her husband, and then she’s accepted a job in Kansas City.” Her husband resides in Lawrence. Walker added. “He had an offer that took him to Lawrence a couple of years ago. Marci just kind of stayed on because she really felt a strong commitment to our school district. I can really appreciate that.”

The district will begin an advertising campaign for the open job Thursday. The Superintendent wants to have a successor hired for the Director of Business Operations job by October 1.

During her tenure in USD 475 Marcie Teenor has helped oversee a number of projects ranging from renovations at Westwood,  Lincoln, Washington, Ware, and Grandview Elementary Schools to remodeling portions of Junction City High School. She also assisted in the effort to obtain federal money for a new middle school at Fort Riley and Seitz Elementary School on post, and oversee construction work on those projects.  She also has been helping with the effort to obtain federal funding for a new Fort Riley Elementary School.
